Why Double Super 8?

Unlike the Conventional Super 8 Cartridge Camera , the Double Super 8 Camera Uses a Film Pressure Plate for Maximum Steadiness and Sharpness! Result that you cannot obtain with cameras using the Kodak Cartridge(Unreliable plastic pressure plate). Bolex Double Super 8 Cameras Accept Regular and Crystal Motors. This Format is the ONLY Super 8 Professional System available!

The Regular 8 and the Double Super 8mm uses the double-run principle! The double-run principle means that the film is run through the camera twice. Each run exposes a row of images down one side of the film. After the film has been processed it is split lenghtwise and the two ends joined together. In this way, a film that starts life 16mm wide and 100ft. long becomes a 8mm wide and 200ft. long!

The H8 RX is the only camera available for 8mm filming wich offers every conceivable feature and convenience. Truly an 8mm camera that acts like a 16. The needs of every advanced amateut and professional can be satisfied with this extremely versatile instrument. Ambitious cameramen can rely on this ideal tool for the production of films in any of the following fields: Scientific research. medical research, sport studies, industrial filming, time and motion studies, superslow motion and every other commercial or amateur apllication.Almost every professional effect can be produced in this camera throught the use of these Bolex features:

Reflex viewing and focusing, 100ft film capacity. Bolex H8' are the only cameras made wich take 100ft rolls of Double Eight film wich is equivalent in running time to 400ft roll in a 16mm camera. Film economy is extraordinary! Variable shutter for fade in/out, dissolves, contol exposure time and deph of field. Unlimited rewind allows double exposure and many other effects. Automatic threading. Variable speeds: Continous range of running speeds from 12 to 64 frs. Speed dial engraved at: 12, 16, 18, 24, 32, 48 and 64frs for slow motion studies, speed-ups or normal filming. The H8 RX in Double Super 8 configuration accepts the 100ft roll of film Super 8 perforated. Same camera' features as above but in super 8 format. Super 8 gives a 50% bigger picture than regular 8mm. Camera accepts 3 Switar prime lenses or the 8-36mm Vario Switar with Auto/Manual Exposure.
